I like the motive. but it seems that you didn't put a lot of effort and patience in this piece, because there are missing some details, which express the depth of the feeling that you miss or love the ocean. but maybe I didn't get it right. I don't know.

but I love the idea and the motive. nice work!

That is really interesting that you said that. What details do you think I might be missing? What about it says lack of effort? Dont be shy, I really like constructive criticism. Because I know that it didnt turn out exactly like I wanted but I just cant put my finger on what went wrong.

I think the light in the ocean. the brightness/ glimmer. the detailed lines... All of the ocean, which I can see are just large lines, just symbolizing the water, but no detail. the detail shows the love in something, I think.
the proportions don't fit, because: either the ship is too small, or the girl is too big. her hair isn't detailed, either (no light effects from the lights right above her; just black). and I think it's a bit critical that the bottom of the ship can be seen, although it touches the water, which should hide a small part of it, so that it looks more 3D and a bit more realistic/ logical. altogether, there is no contrast. there are the colors, but there is missing the shine, and the shading. the dark and the light parts.
I hope I could help you a bit!

hmm that is really interesting. After looking at it a bit I do think that the whole thing needs more shading. But as for the boat, its not supposed to be in the water, its supposed to be above the water, kinda like flying over it. I can see how that is really confusing with the swirly stuff I put under it, but a few people I have talked to seem to be able to get it. I guess I will have to make that more distinct. Also, I know that the proportions are off, I guess I just wanted kind of a ethereal boat, I wanted it to be sort of impractical in a way. I mean not only is it too small but if you knew anything about sail boats you would see that it is not workable at all. Thanks for the advice though I will defiantly have to work on the shading and getting across the feel that i want.
