Yay! Glad you talk about this!
I'm not old to enough vote, but I heard a lot about politics lately and I got an opinion too. Don't care people tells me it's useless 'cause I can't vote, I like to know who would I vote if I could. I also like one of the american candidates.

Being able to vote is one of the few good reasons of being over 21 (well, 18 in Spain).

Thank you. It was very difficult to decide if I should, but like voting, I decided I couldn't not do it.

I remember being like you, too young to vote, but very interested. I hated feeling like "my voice didn't matter" when I was already capable of understanding so much. I couldn't wait to be 18 to vote and take great pride in it.

For the record, you have to be 21 to drink legally or sign legally binding documents.

I don't care who or what people vote for, as long as they vote. I want a real representation of the people's voice. I respect that.

I used to be the youngest person at my work place and people a decade or older than me relied on my knowledge and opinions of the issues.

It's important to look at WHO supports an issue and ask yourself why, as well as reading about the issue itself; wording can be confusing.

But if we don't try to choose for ourselves, than others WILL choose for us. Voting forces one to see beyond their own scope of existence, something desperately lacking today, particularly in a self-indulgent, self-centered, do-as-you-feel-in-the-moment culture. It's easy to give up. It's easy to excuse yourself. And therefore it's nothing to be proud of.

At the very least, I always say, voting gives you the right to bitch.

And to some out there, remember that ANARCHY is a state of UTOPIA, a perfect and peaceful society, not rebellion (look it up in the dictionary). Also remember that real rebellion is like Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and Ghandi. Any idiot can can act like an irresponsible punk for attention, but intelligence and due cause is WORK...like building a dream.

I didn't vote because I can't (D8 one day) and my mom was feeling sickish and now I'm feeling sickish so... That didn't happen. But I agree that's it's very important to vote. And plus, my mom says she feels the need to vote because if she doesn't she can't justifiably argue the outcome should it not be in her favour.
