That symbol reminds me a lot of the algiz rune. It means this:

"Protection, a shield. The protective urge to shelter oneself or others. Defense, warding off of evil, shield, guardian. Connection with the gods, awakening, higher life. It can be used to channel energies appropriately. Follow your instincts. Keep hold of success or maintain a position won or earned."

And I think it's neat that it kind of looks like it's painted on a shield. What was your dream about?

You ever have one of those dreams where you dream that you're lying in bed? Where you're not even sure if you're really dreaming because you're lying in bed, wearing your pj's? It was one of those types of dreams. I was sleeping on my Mom's couch a few weeks after losing my job and being released from the hospital. I drempt that figure was perched on the sofa's arm, at my feet, and was staring at me until I yelled at it and chased it away. Not much of a dream, but the image was so clear that I immediately sketched it into my journal. And that sketch is what I based the painting on.

It does look like a sheild, but in the dream it was more like a wing. Sort of.
