Yeah, I thought that since I am trying to get my sketching skills to this level in a short amount of time I would "tone" down the original sketch layer in photoshop but I wanted the essence of the sketch to still show through. Thanks for the comment 
Thanks! It means a lot!!! The reason I classified these as vexels is because I create a sketch first using a tablet and pen, digitally paint in the tones and values using a soft brush, and then using paths (vector) I create masks for certain layers for cleaner edges, such as the reflections and bold outline/background.
