I was trying to design around where the type would be in this pic, which is in the upper right. I thought I was being fairly simple with the sky and stuff, but I think my color palette has taken over!! LOL!! You are right though that the trees direct you away from her, I hadn't noticed that, good call!! And you know what really sucks is that I spent all my time on teh figure but the sky still beats her out!!! LOL!! Thanks again man!!

In all honesty, I wish the figure were handled with the same delicacy as the background. Even though the girl is darker and outlined, I find myself looking right past her.

Hmmm....do you think it might have something to do with the intensity of the colors in teh background. Even though she is predominantly cool in color, she is not balancing with the warmth of the background and it may be overpowering her....what do ya think??

You might be right. Since warm colors tend to dominate the picture plane, her coolness might be pushing her too far into the background. Also, all of the swirls in the sky and the tree have a way of directing the eye away from her. Or, you might have done such an amazing job on that beautiful, sunny background that the figure just pales in comparison :D.

Wow. I love the soft feel and the warm colour of this piece especially in contrast with the expression. Well done.
