I can not with words express the beauty of this. The concept is wonderful, I love love love it. I wonder what the tale is about?

This is a traditional Japanese tale which I took a few liberties with. In the original story the Maiden is weaving the clothes of the gods. In my version she weaves "The bight blue cloth of the sky and the multi-colored cloth of the shining rainbow" Another change I made was to make her lover a samurai on a horse of cloud ( The Prince of The Starry Night) rather than the shepherd . I do love over the top romantic imagery.:)

ain't there a japanese tale like that? about the daughter of the God of costellation and she had to 'make' the clouds just like that, but them she felt in love with a star [or something] and she became reckless about her job, them her father made a river of stars between them, so they couldn't see each other, she became really sad, them her father promised her that once a year, after really hard work, she could meet him, so she worked really hard making clouds to see him.

and in a properly day, japanese children place a white ribbon on trees to sign the God/lord that is time for him let them get together...

1 - forgive me for my english

2 - forgive me for not remembering details...

forgot to mention: it's a really beautiful ilustration!
