George Wythe, hmm? I'm intrigued, if you're willing to continue.

George Wythe, poor soul, was Jefferson's mentor during law school. He was a man of the Enlightenment and made sure Jefferson knew the law as it was meant to be learned. Wythe also loved books...a lot. So, he got Jefferson into book collecting, thing is, the two started a sort of "contest". To see who could out-read the other. Well, the poor guy was murdered, poisoned with arsenic, but in his will he left Jefferson a big chunk of his library. And Jefferson never stopped collecting :)

You know, now that you talk about that, I think I remember hearing about him. I feel sorry that the guy had to go like that. I bet Jefferson mourned such a great lost mentor.

There's a new book out called "I am Murdered". It's about George Wythe and Jefferson, saw it at Borders this weekend. Just throwing that out there, if you want to read more. :)

And yes, he was very, very sad :( But he took consolation in the fact that he was left something to remember him by

Haha, I joke. I don't mind, I will be sure to look that up. Eventually. If I remember. Which I hope I do.
