yeah i'm kind of on the fence as to what to do with that space.. some sites use it for internal ads like FHM does.. others like maxim and xxl use it for external ads.
I'll put an ad there and see if it feels too "over the top"

This is good, looks really professional.
Although, I do prefer the first one...It's just more fun. This seems...commercial?
The other layout seemed to me, to be a lot more personal, more unique.
