It's not insulting.
I like gobots. Actually, I like the toys so what I really like is Machinerobo (japenese version).
But I'm not a fanatic and for me too, the "challenge of the Gobots" cartoon was like something elaborate by demons to destroy the world :p
That's why such an idea is so fun.

Yeah, second one I think.
Might want to try a deeper blue, it seems less contrasty compared to the TFA style one.

I'm personally attached to the original color scheme. You gotta go w/ the gold and blue colors for Gobots. That and it seems like the logo itself should follow its own path for the Gobots. Its not bad that you draw in a similar style to the transformers animated, but it seems the logo itself should have a life of its own. Not just a spin off from the TF.

DO you know what I'm getting at?

Hmn... XD That actually sounds like a good idea, when I think about it... I'm not familiar with making groups, but! I will definitely try to do such a thing!
