Ya I know I need to clean both blades, specifically before I decide to put them on display. Im gonna wipe them with a dry cloth when I get home next though since you mention it.
Ya I always wanted a katana but I saw it and thought the outside design was just so cool O_O;; And there was this other girl who was behind me in the one area while I looked at it and talked to my friend about buying it. She started going on about how cool it looked and that I found a good one and she wanted one like it. So I asked the dealer if he had a second one for her. We were both lucky and got the last two.
Haha..I dragged my friend around alot looking at weapons. When I found the dagger one, there were alot of nice swords(one that was pretty dangerous, two blades in one, that sheathed into each others handles. I would have got that but it made me nervous thinking of trying to unsheath it. I decided to look at the blades instead and found this one for $16 and thought(It's in fair shape I'll buy it since ith as such an awesome design.) You can barely tell it's a dagger at first glance.
Ya know they were also selling old broken ones? I found several daggers in that basket that didnt look broken at all and I couldnt find what was wrong with them. Only found one with a piece broken off(and that one was a bit dangerous because it was the shealth at the very tip so the sharpest and pointiest part was exposed)

Wow... that's awesome. I want to buy a sword someday. It probably will have to wait until I get out of college, though.

You are correct there is a reason that those weapons are cheap. It's simply the blades themselves. The quality of the metal that makes the edges is fairly cheap. You'll have to be careful when handling those, the oils from your fingers will erode and rust the metal quickly. Make sure to wipe the blade clean. (this is something you should do with all weaponry after handling, but cheaper metal swords are very prone to this).
That being said. I'm very Jealous of you. They designs are very very pretty. They (while still sheathed) will make absolutely beautiful display pieces. I want them too T_T
You win in the end, those were the perfect price to pay really. And are simply stunning to display.

Nothing wrong with that around crazy people like me. D
I'm always on the hunt for more swords and daggers to add to my collection. I mostly like high quality, but will often settle for really pretty. When I started collecting knives, suddenly Folding knives kept being added to the collection, because they are very very cheap, but ugly too. I enjoy my swords mostly. I've got a number of lower quality swords that aren't even that pretty. But I'll take any sword.
