People protest because of their personal views, not their views as a world, and so what if people only found out about it because of other people protesting, isnt that what the protesting was for?

Bine zis, desi bate spre truisme. Macar au reusit sa stinga flacara olimpica si am mai mancat si noi [jurnalistii] o paine :D.

What I was trying to say is that, if people find so much energy to stage protests which won't really get much done in the end [precisely because China couldn't care less], then maybe they should find other, more efficient means of action. Idealism *is* beautiful, but it stops at that.

I have nothing against people who started protesting after they learned about the issue recently. I do, however, feel strongly against those who knew what was going on [especially prominent public figures] and didn't blow a whisper about the issue then, and now all of the sudden they've decided to get in line with the world and say they've been supporting Tibet for years / decades. That's hypocrisy, isn't it?

Nu, evident. Ai nostri sunt fericiti, orice ar primi...
