thanks for the critique! i do tend to avoid idle hands, and had planned on her holding a cigarette. unfortunately though the lab monitor notified me that smoking was not permitted in the studio, so we made do without props.
Her eye is very powerful and I love that the hair is covering the other, It gives her an air of mystery and power. There are only two critiques, Her face is perfect, but if she colour have kept all angels but raised her head to reveal her neck it would have made all the difference (just to not though, the photograph is just gorgeous either way, just trying to give helpful crits )
The other critique is her hands. The arms seem great, but the hands just feel like they're laying there. Her right hand is fine, but the left hand just feels limp.
Her legs are wonderful, I love the shapes and the way the entire body moves the eye!
The lightening is wonderful and she's caught it too making it all work really well.

hmmm, that definitely would have been best. You could have tried having her hold and un-lit cigarette and photoshoped the light but deadily smokey carcinogens in after?
hehe, I'm glad your okay with the critiques though I do really look and try to think about it with your stuff. It's just so beautiful and inspiring
I've always kinda wanted to model, but I'm plus size and I'm a good crit, but I'd probably flop in front of a camera lol! Either that or break the lens
I'll just stick with cutting animals open for the purpose of making them better in the end
now, in my experience, the people who worry they'll do badly in front of the camera do beautifully once they relax. no matter how many times someone has posed for a photographer, the second they begin to feel tense and nervous it shows. it's pretty rare that someone can hide it, unless they take that nervous energy and transform it into creative tension.
by the way, i have a lot of respect for the type of work you're doing. it takes a courageous and caring person to do that sort of thing.
haha, thank-you very much but I'm still learning currently. Takes 8 years of school before you get your certification. I think we're the same though, you find the overall body beautiful for it's shapes, curves, and movements. I find the overall body beautiful inside and out for how amazingly and quickly it functions and responds! how even cholesterol (the thing we think is sooo bad) is vital to proper functioning. Same love on different levels.
as for being nervous, I don't know that I would be 'nervous' per se. but I'm an average north American size 9-12 girl (mind, there is a lower and upper range, biology is never one size but rather a range), and i love "plus-sized" models, they should be the ideal, but they shouldn't be called plus sized. I know I was in hospital with pneumonia for 2 weeks and if i hadn't had a little extra i would still be in there because I wasn't able to eat for about 4 days.
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 10 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
When it comes to community spirit, `Rushy is a shining example. From participating in devmeets, to providing positive encouragement to other artists, `Rushy can always be found demonstrating what it really takes to be a true deviant. It's without any hesitation that we are delighted to award the Deviousness Award for July 2009 to `RushyRead More
