It only hit me near the end, when i was working on the cyindrical torso-ish part (always have trouble connecting limbs to a body), that i could just use the battery as a body instead of it just draining the battery where it was and moving on.

Yeah, and it works very well. It would have looked more awkward to have a spider just dragging a battery around.
