I am a bit unsure about transparency in deviantART images. It looks black on my preview, and normal again in the full view. Should I not use transparency at all here?
Indeed, dA is really bad at handling alpha transparency. The normal view is OK, but the thumbnail generated for preview is not. And they know the problem, it was reported a long time ago, back when Internet Explorer wasn't supporting it and there was no real solution for it.
Well, I've seen that some stamps in gif format have transparent fragments that look OK on the preview. So I tried to convert my stamp to indexed png and gif, but the shading looked just awful then : ( So I left it as it was. At least, now I know why these gif stamps have pixelated, zigzag edges ; )
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 10 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
The Cutting Edge is a weekly article that features brand new selected high quality art products that caught our eyes. Check out the cutting edge prints some of your fellow artists have submitted in the past week!
