I just love the conflicted interest/indifference in Axel's eyes. The emotions are subtle but the expression comes across as so strong thanks to your fabulous way with faces. And in the context of knowing a bit about what Axel/Rhys becomes later it's even richer.
The background. The background. Axel's face is fucking lovely and his expression makes me want to throw myself at him for some reason. I say it's done. DONE. >
Omg I love Axel's expression too. Sadly when I try to do anything remotely close to it with my characters...they always come out looking like they're constipated >.< I agree with daggerjaw, Axel's face makes me want to glomp him.
I'm also in love with your light sources! They hit in all the right places, like showing the shadow of the branch just below eye level of Roxy. And another thing, you did great with the contrasting colors in this piece.
I don't want to gush anymore lol I feel like I'm making myself look like a doob.

My gawd! This is beautiful! I especially lurve the coloring and textures. This has to be one of the prettiest painted forests I've seen in quite a while!

I know exactly what you mean about day after viewing. Any minor nitpicking I could do is totally overshadowed by how amazing the coloring is. The background has really got me questioning the way colors can be mixed and layered in photoshop. The brush technique you use to create those little scratchy strokes really blows me away. Every bit of this is so detailed I could stare for hours.
Aaaargh such a fucking beautiful background, as everyone else has said. Plus CHARACTER INTERACTION FTW, etc. <3 Everyone's expressions are just fabulous.
Also, those tails. They look so sooooft, I want one ;3;

Thank you very much A lot of the scratchy stuff was layered textures and paintovers. I'm glad you like it and it got you thinking about the tools you work with.

A collection of the most beautiful and amazing square photographs I found among my favourites. Please have a look and give these artists the attention they deserve!

We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
