SNEAK!

HDR rocks...

Its a wonderful technology... without that, you would have the windows totally overblown! Especially in churches... when you were going to photograph those mosaic-windows, you loose all the detail in a splash of light, unless you use HDR...

Ha this is one that I had to pay to get permission to take pictures in. Yea I've found so many uses for HDR, even if it's barely used. I love the detail I get :D ...and not having to worry about overblown skies or underexposed foregrounds ;)

Yes, true, thats the great thing about HDR...

Well, for photographs at least.

Actually, the photographs are still pretty new to HDR and sorta "borrowed" this technology from the 3D-Guys (like i am, too).

HDR was a technology developed for / by the 3D industry, originally.
To put it short: We use HDR Spherical environments as an environment map to create realistic reflections and, even more important, use the floating point information to create realistic lighting for 3D Scenes. thats what it as originally invented for. But its just cool that photographs and photoeditor discovered this technology and used it for themselves =)

Yeah, and go Photographers as well!

Hey, if you want to read a lil more about it, you might want to visit this link:

Its the homepage of Paul Debevec, who did some really awesome pioneering work when it comes to HDR.

Theres a lot of other stuff on there, too, about researches in the field of CGI...
Some really neat stuff!
