If I were you... I'd go with something along the lines of how Johnen Vasquez's version of Satan from his Johnny the Homicidal Maniac comic looks... All alien like, but demonic at the same time...

But that's just my opinion...

I've always preferred the idea of Satan as a nice-looking person, but somewhat creepy in behaviour :'D

You're right! I instantly thought of the Animaniacs' design of Satan when I saw this.

I've allways been intrigued with different designs of satan.. they dont get done very often. I wander If legends was the one who began the muscle satan thing, I dunno. I'd look at some Bosch paintings, theire mainly about heaven and hell and such, should be some interesting inspiration as those paintings are quite manic!.
