Comment on New Steampunk Goggles by taintedscars

Im trying to make a pair of my own and was wondering if i could shake some advise out o' you
(1) what did you use for the lenses ???!
(2)where did you get the good looking gears - so far ive disassembled 2 watches and a clock and i found some pretty cool stuff but i haven't found as many gears as i thought i would . I found 1 (
) metal gear and all the rest were ugly white plastic gears (damn modernisation 
)
and any other advise you have would be really appreciated

If you're feeling creative you can paint/ spraypaint plastic bits, that might save some $ too when looking at lots and lots of clocks.

I have since given up unfortunately

I found all the gears from old pocket watches and old clocks at thrift stores and flea markets.
