I'm not sure how you figure Bass is shorter than Rock... but okay.

Huh? They're the same height. I didn't make either shorter than the other. Rock, Roll, Proto Man, Bass, and Kalinka are all the same height. If there's anything making anyone look taller or shorter than anyone else, then it's purely an optical illusion. If you check the measurements on the chart's ruler, though, they're all the same height.

And since I mentioned Kalinka, I should note that this is the Kalinka from Mega Man 4. I know she's recently been revealed to have aged a few years, so she's likely, currently taller than she used to be.

I guess I owe you an apology.

I had it firmly fixed in my head that Bass was taller, helmet or not, thanks to Mega Man 7. And then I made a sprite height chart and well...

Incidentally, Kalinka's sprite is actually shorter than Rock's, if I remember right.

It's alright. Before I did the research necessary for this chart, I thought both Bass and Proto Man were taller than Mega Man, but it turns out they're all the same height. I was wondering why this seems to be such a common misconception, and I'm still not sure why.

As for Kalinka, I was going with what I saw in official artwork, since that outnumbers her single sprite appearance. I will say, though, that the NES sprites of the series tend to not be the best indicator for height, since the combination of sprite size limitations on the NES, coupled with the fact that the sprites are modeled after an SD (or "chibi", if you prefer) art style, tends to give some weird results. Unless you want to believe that Guts Man and Air Man are the same height: [link]

I never realized just how adorable NES Gutsman looked before now. Aww.
