I'm writing a story with what I hope has a plot (and will include a porn chapter at some point, I hope -- no, seriously), but it's only two chapters in, ehehe. It's a total AU... pirate-fic. XD That probably sounds familiar due to the previous pirate-designs I did a little while ago.
Indeed, Spiritshipping gets the brunt of badfiction because it's so popular -- and yet, you're absolutely right, it's so difficult to screw up, being one of the most easy-to-write pairings in the entire fandom based on the insanely positive chemistry between the two participants. But somehow, fanbrats manage.
I personally think Haou's very difficult to pin down character-wise. He honestly thinks he's doing the right thing, killing people for Super Fusion, and can justify it in his mind, and to him, that's all that matters, even if he can't justify it to other people. He can be cold and calculating, distant and impersonal, as well as unpredictable in his behavior at times, and could probably go from perfectly docile to livid and violent in a flash. Most importantly, he's trying to close himself off for the sole reason of preventing what happened to his friends from happening to anyone around him ever again -- hence why he tries not to make personal connections with anyone. Even if that reason can be seen under other guises (he kills to be evil and learn what evil is, to fulfill himself, etc.), he thinks it's entirely right and just for him to sacrifice people who either A) are like Brron and would try to hurt others in the way Brron hurt everyone else (which is a bit comparable to Edo, in a way) or B) would've died at his hands anyway, because he believes anyone who gets close to him will become hurt in the end, even if he claims the friendships of others just drag him down.
It's... kinda complex. I can't believe I actually managed to describe that. XD
Oh, pfft, this conversation is plenty intelligent. Don't be so modest.
Fangirls can be smart AND fangirlish at the same time, seriously!
