I currently use it to read on the bus,

you know, I was going to go into that, but I just didn't.

The only reason I can really see I'd want an iPad for is for ebooks and reading... but a kindle is just as good for that and wayyy cheaper with a long battery life smaller and lighter....
(my sister and my brothers girlfriend both have an iPad)

But the kindle requires external light :)

elaborate please?
I don't know if I know what you're talking about?

Just like, you can't read it in the dark because you'd need a lamp?
Or it needs a specific source of light?

It is not back-lit, while the iPad is. So, you can't read on the bus in the early morning if the reading light above you is broken or the driver decides not to turn them on (it is a power thing).

ooooh, okay I get it :P
Sorry, I'm kinda slow when it comes to technology.

That'd be sort of disappointing in a way. 90 percent of the time, I'd probably be in a lit place, but on drives to see family (12 hours), I think it'd be kinda bummy since I'd like to use it then. :hmm:

I don't really need an entire iPad though :( damn it.

There are many cheap book lights that you can buy, so the kindle can be the solution as well!
