I drove a '68 VW Fastback all during high school and into college, I do quite well with manual transmissions, thank you very much. But when your average trip is under a mile and a half each way, with a couple of 300 mile each way roadtrips thrown in, there is really no place to use or need a manual. So now I drive an auto, much more practical.
