Well I think it depends on your exact situation. I don't consider myself a "professional" by any means, but by technical definition since I take commissions and that is my main/only source of income anymore...
But I also do it as a hobby as well.
So I kind of count it as both. Or I just really love my job. 
Lol. Since I still draw for myself when I'm not too busy with commissions, I consider it as well... both. 
I try to think of it as... A hobby sometimes and a job when it needs to be.
