One day, many years in the future after the libertarian revolution, you will look back on these conversations and realize that what I was saying was right. If you had tried looking from a different perspective, you would've spared yourself the embarrassment of being the modern analogy to 18th-century royalists.

Devious Comments

Sean Hannity invited an obviously asinine Jew-hater who was sent to prison for racketeering. Now there are people here who don't Fox News to begin with, but to me this is by far the most legitimate reason to resent Fox News. Sadly, this is just the tip of the iceberg of how the conservative movement is being exploited by self-proclaimed "voices" such as Alex Jones and Pat Buchanan.

What I see is that we are entering an era that is similar to the era that was the Roaring 20s, a time where the Ku Klux Klan was its height. What can the conservative movement do to redeem itself from this?

They could put Sean Hannity, Anne Coulter, Glenn Beck, and Rush Limbaugh on a plane that mysteriously never returns.

The religious right "cares" for Israel simply as an end to their own messianic prophecies. The Jews, as in the actual persons who make up the religion, as opposed to the persons who make up the nation of Israel...Not so much...

Well, welcome to the club, man.

What can conservatives do to redeem their movement? Well, all the sane conservatives should get together (figuratively) and say that they're going to actively rebuke the crazies. Cut off from Fox News and Rush Limbaugh and Stormfront. And whenever they rear their ugly heads, and you hear dirty liberals like me start talking about how conservatives are lunatics, explain that you are different from the lunatics, and explain why. From a more policy-oriented standpoint, abandon the old, tired, Reagan-era propaganda, things like "Government can't do anything right" and "Keynesian economics never work." Things like that obscure the truth and harm debate. And cut out the remainder of the cancerous tumor that is Karl Rove-style politicking, which pits groups of Americans against each other based on superficial issues and only serves to increase hatred. Learn what liberals think and why they think it, instead of just pointing a finger and going "Wrong!", and try to compromise. Dear lord, try to compromise. I'm thinking of a certain health care bill proposed by a certain Montanan senator as I type this.

Alright, I am now ready for people to complain that I never do any of that stuff.

Sean Hannity is always making obscure racist suggestions, so this doesn't really surprise me.

...So can I have exact quote/YouTube video of this or do I only get a blog to comment on?

Not this again... That bogus conspiracy theory, like a million others, is already debunked as being inconsistent to End Times prophecies because Jesus never said when, where, or how the Apocalypse will come.

See, this is where I actually admire William F. Buckley for having the courage to do what some kind of conservative figure should do now: denounce the crazies.

Come on, Buckley said the Birchers were nuts and it served conservatism pretty well. Do it again for the Birthers/Deathers/Tenthers/Assorted Crazies.
