Pardon a little context first.

Today I found myself again arguing with a female workmate in front of our other co-workers. Avoiding blame, she said it was all my fault various setbacks happened, when I proved the opposite with duly-filled paperwork, she resorted to name-calling and imitating me, saying she has every right to disrespect me since I was late that day due to issues I justified with the boss.

I'm not a very patient man in front of an unruly child.

So among quite a few general insultes I aggressively recalled her being late, without any warning and I had to call her up and didn't disrespect her for being absent when she told me she was taking care of her "girlfriends little shit kid" (what I said). Boss came in while all hell broke loose, co-worker storming off, one girl actually crying. Boss was okay with me since he saw her provoke me but he can't really do anything since we need her on the team for now.

NOW back to the topic at hand, the girl who was crying comes up to me a mess and tells me "You can't disrespect a woman like that.", and I told her that I wasn't a man disrespecting a woman; I was a person disrespecting a person without any respect for anything. Now as a firm believer of equal gender rights, I believe I was in the right. Do you guys think man and woman deserve different treatments when throwing shit around and getting it thrown back at them?
photosynthetichuman's avatar
Now they are trying to get me fired for making two girls cry. Nice. Real nice.

Respect is earned. Sex is irrelevant. It's not like you went on a date and told people you slept with her. You were engaged in an argument in which you were equals. It sounds like she disrespected you.
AnAliasUnknown's avatar
As a feminist, I'd say that they both sound like bitches. Being a certain gender doesn't mean you get to act like a bitch without repercussions.

Note I refer to "bitch" as a term for "jerk," and not as a degrading term for "female person/dog"
CindarellaPop's avatar
I'd have laughed in her face and told her to come back when she can stop being such a fucking cry baby bitch. How's that for disrespect?
IheartWaffies's avatar
Of. Fucking. Course. Not.

It's called being hypocritical, and your co-worker should be shameful for being just a bitch in general.

My boyfriend has a saying: "Equal rights, equal fights." :meow:
qwepoirtqoewiutyoqwe's avatar
Male or female, if I find you're not deserving of respect, I will not give it to you. Simple as that.
MurphysDinnerParty's avatar
You can take so many times, but that is the point of being in a professional work environment. You act professional unless your life is in absolute danger. You don't stoop down to their level, otherwise you're going to look just as bad as them. Fighting fire with fire is ridiculous. You took the bait and as a result, now you look just as bad as she does.
CrimeRoyale's avatar
You should slap her and tell her how it is!
CherylBlanche's avatar
:stare:
That's unbelievable, they're both incredibly moronic. One might normally pity the oversensitive one, but when a dipshit cries for no reason then tries to blame it on you all sympathy probably goes out the window.
Svataben's avatar
So... You both acted completely unprofessionally, yet somehow it's related to gender?

It sound unreasonable, as you tell it, sure, but I'd like to hear the other side of the stioy.
SahidenEthare's avatar
Didn't you get the memo? Everything is related to gender!
It can't be unprofessionalism, who'd think of that?
Svataben's avatar
I never get the memo! :iconcryingplz:

There must be some sexism in the memo department.
SahidenEthare's avatar
Sexism in the memo department? :o
Why didn't you say so, let's get the pitchforks and torches right away!
Svataben's avatar

Seeing as most people scream equal rights left, right and center now it was only fair. You had all the right to do that. The whole "You can't do x because I'm y" argument is a bit stale after you hear the same person campaigning about equality.
MisterKhact's avatar
Feminism = Where women can do whatever they want (pulling a sexist card) and we men can't do jack shit without a massive repercussion.
Uranus-seventhsun's avatar
I hope the boss reproaches the tantrum woman for her unprofessional behavior, and the second for crying (also unprofessional) OK, you were unprofessional too, but you were provoked.

Both women have a victim mentality. Watch your back. The rumours will start soon.
HametsuNoCharge's avatar
Personally, since I believe in hearing both sides, I'm going to have to ask whether or not you reacted a bit aggressively (the "little shit kid" comment wasn't very nice.

On the other hand I also believe that egomaniacal prissy-dolls all desperately need a good punch in the face from reality sooooooooo

Way to go :)
PuzzledHeartBox's avatar
Don't worry, she had it coming.
iblisregime's avatar
A man should never argue with a woman, unless he is willing to get permanent hairloss at an early age or the near future. LoL
In reality, you did the right thing, you got your point across, the boss knew it, and you still have your job.
photosynthetichuman's avatar
Oh god, now I’m self conscious about my hair.

When you put it that way though, totally worth all the mean looks at work.

Some of us females are getting dumber each day. Hopefully I don't become like any of those b****es when I grow up.
I believe in equal gender rights. And I hate it when people are being sexist.
We are all people, and that is that.

Good job standing up for yourself. And hey, you can beat them up in your head, okay? ;)
photosynthetichuman's avatar
Seems you'll grow up just fine and violent fantasies, yay!
JeweledScarab's avatar
Shit can be thrown regardless of gender.

However throwing shit does require you first shit though so make sure you eat lots of fiber.
CrookiNari's avatar
That kind of thing just makes me angry  You were not acting in that manner towards her based purely on her sex, so you weren't being disrespectful towards a woman. You behaved in that manner due to provokation from another person, which is not ok no matter who it comes from.
That's what people need to realise. To be completely free of sexism, you must not distinguish between genders and act accordingly. Ultimately it boils down to that person is a bastard.
MasterPlanner's avatar
Looks like the both of them need a good :iconcuntpuntplz:

(note: I believe that some people are just cunts, regardless of gender.)
EnuoCale's avatar
Crisp them to cinders.
Euterpe-The-Egret's avatar
I think being the bigger person and leaving would have been the best option.
photosynthetichuman's avatar
True, but you can only be the bigger person and leave so many times. I'm quite upset I blew up like that.
Euterpe-The-Egret's avatar
I agree. Sometimes you can only be human and that includes acting rashly or blowing up. :)

You could always apologize for blowing up. Not the funnest idea but if you are upset about it, it may make you feel better. Or you could move on. Personally, you both threw some low blows and were both wrong. Ultimately though I think both women were pretty out of bounds. The first one for starting it all and the second by being shocked at you blowing up at someone because of their gender.

Respect is a two way street. Yes, men should treat women with respect but that doesn't mean that women get to do as they please.
photosynthetichuman's avatar
At this point, I see saying sorry in the same vein as asking a tantruming child to forgive me.
Euterpe-The-Egret's avatar
Then I guess you just have to move on and learn from this.
ISolitude's avatar
How did you allow yourself to get wrapped up in this argument anyway? Just walk away imho
Raenafyn's avatar
She was being a dumbass :paranoid: . I believe in equal rights too, specifying that it's "disrespectful" just because she was a woman is extremely sexist on her part.
Smoppet's avatar
Oh, people who can't deal with the fact that they're wrong.
SpaniardWithKnives's avatar
Well, well, the first one that insults is the one that loses the argument. No matter what. When somebody needs to start insulting is because is not sure of his/her arguments and needs to reinforce her position.

I am a woman and wonder why so many women feel the need to start with the insults and namecalling, then complain when the shit somes back to them. They make all of us look like hysterical freaks.
photosynthetichuman's avatar
I want to thank you and everyone else so far for restoring my lost faith in humanity today.
SpaniardWithKnives's avatar
Lol!. NP. Well, mine is long gone, I would prefer to laugh at things like that, but at work it can have consecuences, sad you have to deal with that kind on behaviour
photosynthetichuman's avatar
Laugh, don't cry. I'll try.
SpaniardWithKnives's avatar
Ok. crazy joke. Is a joke:

Go to work dressed as a woman and tell her you are going through a sex change process and now you are a woman, so you can kick her in the crotch with no shame.

Seriously. A friends coworker called him a nasty pig when he opened the door to her and let her go first. She thought he was looking her ass or somerhing. He did not reply, he did not want to clash with her and make a drama... jesus...
Winged-Ego's avatar
I'm all for equal rights and stuff but...

You should have dick-smacked both of those girls. That's where their respect is.
photosynthetichuman's avatar
I'll just have to use my imagination. Glad to see some sanity.
Winged-Ego's avatar

Saying "you can't be disrespectful to women", implying it's perfectly fine to disrespect men, is a hugely sexist statement.

So kick her right in the cunt and say "sorry, I thought you were a dude." Let HER figure it out!
VelvetFish's avatar
you mean like this? :iconcuntpuntplz:
Raenafyn's avatar
Totally agree with this statement!
photosynthetichuman's avatar
Glad I'm not the only one to think so, was starting to think we took two steps forward with gender rights only to start taking 3 steps back.

Bitchy girl does look like a dude, ideas, ideas.
Pinkmitten's avatar
should of told the lady who was crying to smell your fart.
sbkMulletMan's avatar
No, smell your fart.

You need to package your farts and ship them to other people so that anyone anywhere can smell your farts.
Pinkmitten's avatar
okay, but i won't pay shipping and handling.
