Oh yes, the year 2012 will end soon, and all our calendars will be outdated! :nuu:

So, tell me about the calendar you currently have. Does it hang on your wall or maybe it's the kind that fits in your pocket? Does it have a lot of stuff marked on it, or do you just have it to keep up with which day it is? Is it a plain one, or one of those with pictures and thoughtful quotes on it? Perhaps you've kept a diary on it, or maybe you have a sexy man-calendar :eyes: Do tell.

Oh, and if you got a new calendar for christmas (like I did) tell me about that one as well

I... don't have a calendar in my room. :)
Gemdrop's avatar
What about anywhere else in the house?
monipln's avatar
I have a lame 2013 calendar that someone gave me but I don't remember where I put it. Otherwise I had a very nice big 2012 one with pretty landscapes. :aww:
Gemdrop's avatar
How is it lame?
monipln's avatar
Well it has a very poorly designed collage on it so I don't really intend to hang it anywhere.

Last year was cats in hats! This year owls sadly no hats just owls. :(
Gemdrop's avatar
Aww :hmm:
How about drawing hats on them? :dummy:

I bought an Emily Carr calendar, but only for the pictures. I use the calendar on my phone more often as it is so handy. (even though I do prefer writing things on paper than typing them in)
Gemdrop's avatar
I thought Emily Carr would be some hot chick :paranoid:
But yes, she does have very nice art!
tuftedpuffin's avatar
LOL!!! Oh, the mental image of Emily Carr in a swimsuit calendar made me laugh.

There is a statue of her and some of her pets (a horse, a monkey...) in town and a couple friends and I were in the area, and as always I had to go look at it as she has been a favourite artist since I was a child. One of them looked at it, said "Wow, she was ugly!" and I hit him. For one thing, it was an older version of her they modeled it after. For another, who gives a fig? Her art was amazing!
Gemdrop's avatar
:lmao:

Hahaha that is so funny. And sweet :meow: Art appreciator from an early age, eh?

Oh,
my calendar says it's april... 2011! xD
But there are some cute kitties in a basket in the picture. :dummy:
Gemdrop's avatar
Well hurry up and get a fresh one! :nuu:
cinimir's avatar
I don't really use calendars. I always forget to turn to the next month. ^^"
I've got a personal organizer, though.
What calendar do you have?
Gemdrop's avatar
I see

Right now I have a nature calendar
cinimir's avatar
Sweet. :D I used to have one from National Geographic some time ago. There were some great photos in it.
soda-with-cyanide's avatar
The only calendar I use is the one on my phone. :dummy:
Gemdrop's avatar
My phone has an annoying calendar, so I couldn't really imagine myself using it

I got a tattoo a day calendar, has it's own style of tattoo for each day.
Gemdrop's avatar
That's pretty cool :la:

I haven't had a calendar since I was about 14. :icondivaplz:
KSXZT's avatar
I just don't need one. I keep all the necessary information in my head, same as any slightly-normal person. Plus, there's not enough wall space to hang one up any more. :saddummy:
Gemdrop's avatar
Oh, okay :noes: I could never remember all the stuff I need to, if I didn't have a calendar.
How are your walls so full?
KSXZT's avatar
My artwork, my husband's pictures, my kids' pictures, awesome HK wallpaper that I don't want to cover up, a copy of the Mona Lisa and just general artwork, really. It's a colourful house.

Oh, and the occasional dartboard. We've got six of them in this house.
Gemdrop's avatar
That's a lot of dartboards :noes:
KSXZT's avatar
Two in the bedroom, one in the kitchen, one in the living room, one in the dining room... and one in the toilet. Because sometimes you need something else to do, y'know?

God help the person that opens the door just as I'm about to throw the dart though.

I just use my phone's calendar.
Vanhir's avatar
I would use a proper calender but I find I tend to forget they're there. :stare:
KSXZT's avatar
Yeah, you've got to remember to write stuff on the calendar, then you have to remember to actually look at the calendar... it's too much hard work.
Vanhir's avatar
It's a lot of bloody effort for something I care very little about. :|
KSXZT's avatar
My point exactly. So many things are.
Vanhir's avatar
Like RELIGION, AMIRITE?! :iconrimshotplz:

Get something that... I don't know, catches your eye? Maybe a nude calendar :eager:
Vanhir's avatar
Ehh, but then I've got to remember to write on it and stuff. It's the same problem I have with diaries; I forget they exist.
Gemdrop's avatar

I've resorted to carving dates and reminders into my arms.

My 2012 calendar is a Blazblue calendar that came with Continuum Shift Extend. It sucks because I bought the game in September (I think) so I only got to use it for a third of the year :(

I didn't mark anything on it because I didn't want to mess it up. Actually, it's pretty useless because it hangs right above my desk, and I could just as easily check the date on my computer. I just hung it up because I like Blazblue.
Gemdrop's avatar
So it's just for decoration, I see
xxEvilBlondiexx's avatar
Yeah. I'm thinking I might just flip it back over to January for next year even though the date won't be right then. That's what I did with the last calendar I really liked.
Gemdrop's avatar
You should, if it's a great calendar :XD: Just make sure no one thinks it's an accurate one :noes:

Chippendales.

Also, this.

That's cool :iconteheplz:

Aww! :la:

Because I don't care much about which day we're in. :B If it's a speshul day, I get to know it by other means.
Gemdrop's avatar
Oh, lol  I see.

GOATS IN TREEEEEEEEES.

One year I got this one: [link]

Ended up buying three posters of his work. Or was it four? I think his work is awesome, either way.
Gemdrop's avatar
Goats? In TREES?

That looks... special
PlasticusForkus's avatar
If I was in your presence I would now be waving it in your face in a mocking manner :aww:
Gemdrop's avatar
That is awesome

My current calendar is a Lang American Cat calendar. Basically it's a buncha paintings of cats! :D I love the artist and have been using his calendars for three years now. I also have a second calendar up from my sister-in-law that's an astrology calendar and every month it gives your horoscope, a buncha ruling planets and stuff like that.

2013's calendar is an Avengers calendar that I totally didn't just buy so I could stare at Loki's face for a month. I might get the American Cat calendar again too if I have some extra bucks lying around.

I never write on my calendars. ;_; They're like books--we don't touch them.
Gemdrop's avatar
cooool :la:

Which month is Loki? :iconteheplz:

:noes: Never? Never ever?
Cup-of-Javo's avatar
Never ever ever! :D To write on them would be sacrilegious!

I haven't actually looked at the calendar since I bought it back in September, but I believe Loki is a fall month, like October or something. Which sucks; I'll have to wait for forever getting there.
Gemdrop's avatar
:nuu: How do you remember important dates, then?

Oh damn :shakefist:
You could always glue his face on every month :dummy:
PlasticusForkus's avatar
Loki, whaaaat? Whichever way you swing, there's far smexier Avengers than Loki.
Gemdrop's avatar
Oh come on, Loki is smexy :icongrinstareplz:

Well, I didn't see them, so there. :iconcolbertpls:
PlasticusForkus's avatar
Iron Man, Thor or Captain America don't float your boat?
Cup-of-Javo's avatar
No. :c

I liked everyone as characters (why didn't they include Agent Coulson in more stuff? :shakefist:), but...something about Loki's story just struck me somewhere. So he became a Favourite Character. :D

My shitty Club Nintendo award for 2012 was a 2013 calender, I guess I'll use that
KoutaTheCreator's avatar
I have a calender of some mountains and landscapes. I'm far too lazy to get up and check though. :icontoolazyplz:

MY CURRENT 2012 CALENDER IS A CAT CALENDER....USUALLY I JUST USE MY PHONES CALENDER :slow:
Gemdrop's avatar
WHY DO YOU HAVE A REGULAR CALENDAR IF YOU DON'T USE IT?
NOT THAT I'M GUILTY OF THAT OR ANYTHING
LaEmperatrizMariana's avatar
I have two calendars and they both hang on the wall. (I don't count the digital ones, but if you do count those I have 3 of those.) They both have stuff written on them, but the dates aren't marked out. One has a picture of kittens and the other has photos of random churches. :P

I haven't bought or received a new one for next year, yet.
Gemdrop's avatar
Kittens
Where'd you get the church one?
LaEmperatrizMariana's avatar
Yeah, but the "kittens" one is just a picture of two kittens playing with each other with the months as a booklet at the bottom. (If that makes sense.) ^^;

At church. :slow:

I haven't decided what I'll get for next year. :dummy:
Gemdrop's avatar
Oh

Well, that makes sense :paranoid:

Get one with puppies :la:
LaEmperatrizMariana's avatar
Yup.

I'll get whatever's the cheapest, yet looks nice! :dummy:
Gemdrop's avatar
Sounds like a plan
Co-Phantom's avatar
Uh... I have that dry-erase calender up in the kitchen. I need to change it soon though. :paranoid:
Gemdrop's avatar
I thought only the suprenanny used one of those :nuu:
Co-Phantom's avatar
I am the super nanny! :stare:
Gemdrop's avatar
Co-Phantom's avatar
No. :iconokayfaceplz:

I don't even know what a super nanny is.
Co-Phantom's avatar
Well, she does fly with just an umbrella.
Gemdrop's avatar
 It's the american or british tv show about this woman who helps parents discipline their out of control kids.

Oh. Sounds horrible! D:

The one I have at the moment is a gift from a painter I met in Hong Kong, has some traditional paintings and stuff on it for each month which are beautiful. It took me ages to figure out the numbers though, more often than not I find myself just counting the squares on my fingers. It also has what appears to be some nice quotes on each month, old proverbs and stuff, but I've got no clue what they mean.

I haven't got one for next year yet, it's kind of hard to top this one so I'll be disappointed to take it down.
Gemdrop's avatar
Wow, that sounds really awesome. Except for the numbers part  Shame you don't know what the quotes mean.

I mean, they could be anything :paranoid:
Endeavor-To-Freefall's avatar
True, for all I know it says "Me love you long time - Confucius" but it was done by hand and I know the lady who painted it personally, I have faith that they're all very deep and meaningful :bucktooth:
Gemdrop's avatar
:XD:
Well now I have faith in that as well
