Amanda Jones In The CellarAMANDA JONES IN THE CELLAR
Chapter 1
Amanda lay on her bed with her hands folded behind her head. She was still dressed in her white shirt, denim shorts and hose. She didn’t fee like getting ready for bed yet and she didn’t feel at all tired. She tried to tell herself it was the breeze knocking a tree branch against her window that kept her awake. Or the noise of the television down the hall. Or the fact that she hadn’t been for her customary run this evening.
But they were all false. It was a brief image of two figures silhouetted in a doorway which prevented her from sleep.
Amanda liked to run around the quiet campus buildings before turning in for the night. The fresh air and exercise helped her to sleep after endless hours in the library poring over old tomes, writing papers and studying for tests. Ten days ago Amanda had been running through the paths at the rear of the science and technology wing of the campus.
