So, you don't give a shit about your art and writing? Well, at least you finally admit it.

When it comes to SYAC? I've always admitted it. You just weren't listening.

Unimpressed  Why do you even bother with it then?

isn't it better for everyone if you just stopped drawing SYAC then? There's no point doing it anymore if you're not even enjoying it (sadly it does shows when you lose your passion for creating something). At this point I'd say you should go out and have a life outside of deviantart and internet because its so stupid to spend your time arguing and whining here and it isn't going to help you to improve your art (if thats what you're after, though i highly doubt that since you obviously dont have any interest in art anymore). Also it would be for your own good to stop worrying over "trolls" and actually focus on something important - like your health or your social life. Seriously you have dug a hole so deep you might aswell shut your computer for once and go get a life.

I enjoy making SYAC just fine when I don't have people breathing down my neck to make it the next Michelangelo.

SYAC was, and always has been, a side project that I do for FUN and because my fans enjoy it. It's never meant to be anything that I put a lot of time or effort into, and I resent anyone who dictates to me otherwise what I should be doing with my own content.

And just closing the computer and leaving everything is an idiotic, if genuine, answer to my problems. The internet is how I get business done. It's how I make money. A couple trolls here or there causing problems? I'm not leaving for that. I need to make money and keep my freelance business afloat. Leaving the internet isn't an answer to that.

What's your main project by the way? Do you have something new up the sleeves or do you plan to reboot (or continue) Alex ze pirate?

I always have something new up my sleeves. And I have every intention of continuing Alex Ze pirate's series with the rebooted designs.

What do you think this attitude will accomplish?

If you don't give a shit about your art and writing then why should your fans do so?

Because you don't need amazing artwork or amazing writing to get a chuckle out of someone. And that's all I ever wanted to accomplish and my fans know that.

Maybe you should start including a disclaimer on your art "advice" strips and journals, then, that kids should only be listening to you if they want to be forgettable DA sketchers and jokesters? Maybe act responsibly and tell them that if they want to produce quality work at a professional level someday, they should start looking to other sources for advice?

I don't know a single artist on DA or otherwise who would be stupid enough to use ONLY me as their lone source of inspiration and tip making. Seriously do you genuinely believe kids only learn from one source their whole life and believe me to be THAT much of a threat? Cuz if you do, you're insane.

Man, that unprovable supposition of yours sure absolves you of responsibility for misleading the impressionable!

Likewise, that unprovable supposition of YOURS sure justifies people to continually bitch and moan about my work like it's some sort of anti-christ. Looks like we're at a crossroads here.

If you GENUINELY can prove to me that "impressionable kids" are using my advice to their determent, I'll say sorry. But otherwise... fuck off.

It's cool that you're a liar and a fraud. Keep pretending to know anything about art, keep pretending to be a professional artist, and go lie more about books you haven't read when you hand out fake art advice.

Not trying to strike a low blow here but your writing isn't all that good, half the time your fans mistake what the joke is supposed to be and you then need to add a extra paragraph in your description just to explain the joke.

Those descriptions aren't for my fans. Those are usually for the people who nitpick and intentionally try to misconstrued my messages.

So you don't mind me quoting you on that driving "comic" where you say "Facepalming at the number of people unironically talking about their driving experience rather than the message the comic is satirizing." that's one example of many why your writing suffers.

Not all artists have the same goal.

Stop enforcing your standards on others.

Chillax buddy it wasn't a personal attack, it's called an advice, they're free to grab with no obligations attached... ;)
I admit I sounded a bit elitist in the comment above and I apologize and I won't lie, I do have standards when it comes to professional work, after all money and careers are at stake so a more professional and disciplined approach are needed but since we're both hobbyist on dA we should take a more relaxed approach so let me rephrase it:

You said in an earlier comment that SYAC as made for fun only, and in my opinion having fun is a perfectly valid goal, I respect that. it's just that desire of improvement and optimization is the most natural desire in a creator's mind, it doesn't matter if it's your job, your hobby or even your community service sentence, most people will try to optimize the way they do their stuff... you know the old "If I need to crush rocks I may as well become the best rock crusher in the whole ward." mentality. Otherwise it may lead to stagnation, and stagnation lead to atrophy.
I like your tree analogy so I'll use it: It would be like watering your tree with just enough water to survive but not enough to either grow or maintain his current shape.

I'm not the best orator but I hope I was a bit more clear. No hard feelings heh, you're walking on your road and I'm merely a passerby.
