welcome to DevART
Merry/Happy whatever it is you humans might be celebrating around this time. Christmas, Chanukah, Divine Blood Feast of the Chaos God, take your pick.

Welcome to my corner of the internet! I'm currently getting nestled in here, but in a short time I've received some very polite comments/compliments to help me adjust to life as a fellow Deviant. Many thanks go out to those kind contributors!

Sooo, I suppose I should begin with a little introduction. As you may have deducted, my name's Chris. I draw, read comics, play an unhealthy amount of video games- basically your typical nerd.

To put it in a gross understatement, I'm a huge gamer. Ever since I received my first NES back in the 80's from my parents when I was a wee boy, I've been hooked on the fantasic amalgam between art, programming, simulation, and entertainment you can find in games. At the time, I could barely produce coherent speech, yet it came to me as clear as day that Mario stomps Goombas.

These days, if I had to pick a favorite genre for games, I'd say I lean towards tournament fighters (such as Street Fighter, Dead or Alive, Soul Calibur, King of Fighters) for console systems, while I prefer First-Person Shooters (Couter-Strike, Unreal Tournament, Raven Shield) on the PC.

And to tie in this video game thing, I wanted to mention that it's likely I get most of my inspiration from games. There are some companies out there that really do strive to put truly unique characters, settings, stories or music in their games. Ideally, I'd probably want to work for a game company as a creative director or character designer, but I lack any formal training. My style isn't horrible, but it's not as great as it could be if I were to take some actual art classes and learn the rules before I go and try to break them.

But until that day, here we have a nice little storage space for my assorted scribblings, laid bare for you to admire/flame at to your hearts content. Go nuts!
Oh yeah, forgot one thing.

Whenever I post a picture of one of my recorded characters (at least, the first post they've appeared in), I'm likely going to paste the character's profile in the picture's description.

I thought I'd give you a heads-up as to the profile layout, and what everything means.

P.S.: "Rim Edge" is the name of the universe in which my characters inhabit and all the stories take place. Don't bother asking what Rim Edge is supposed to mean, because it was thought up a long, long time ago and I honestly can't remember the meaning for the life of me!

And that's it! Easy, no?

... You don't need to answer that.
hello there, and welcome to DA!
Hope to see more of your art posted soon :)
and nice music you have there. i have the FFVII soundtrack too, hehe.
Woo! First friend! Now... how the hell do I do the same? I put a few people on my "Watched" list. What, precisely, does that do?
When you put someone on your watch list, whenever that person posts art and journal entries, you will get a notification in your message centre.. You can alter what exactly you get notifications for, also, when you add them (that page that has tons of check boxes on it)
basically, you add someone to it if you want to know about their new works.. it works like a favourites list, of sorts :)
Welcome to DA. :*
