Ever been really tired but you just can't seem to get to sleep? That's me. Right now. So I figured I'd join deviantART and post something, since I've been meaning to for months now.
But I'll be damned if this is the place you go when you're tired, since there's so much awesome shit to see. My eyes are about to drop straight out of my head, and it feels like the inside of my eyelids are made of sandpaper, but I just keep looking at deviations.
Damn this place. Damn it to hell.
Must get to sleep soon.

Werlcome to DA, CHris. At last! 
So I'm watching Troy on DVD. I can't understand why I'm watching it on DVD since I didn't like it in the theatre. On my second time through this rather lengthy epic, I think I've finally realized why this movie bothers me.
It's not just that the events of the book this movie has adapted have been overdramatized in true Hollywood fashion - it's what they leave out and don't explain. I think to the average person who has never read the Illiad or The Odyssey, this movie is just 3 hours of stuff happening. There's no real resolution to the events. Troy burns, many people die - some sadly, some tragically - but in the end no lessons are learned. There's not much in the way of character development - Agamemnon is always angry; Hector is the tragic, noble hero; Paris is the pretty boy that starts the war but never faces responsibility for anything he does.
I'd say the only redeeming quality this movie has going for it is the actress who plays Helen. Wrooow.
