You live in Las Vegas, that sounds pretty cool. Wonder why you say it sucks?

I saw a rat in the subway, it was carrying a modell's shopping bag and waiting for the downtown train. When I noticed that I was staring at it, it flipped me the bird.

vegas is only fun if you don't live here and you have lots of money. it's very hot, we have the worst air quality, radioactive dust, not enough water to go around, not enough power to go around, no authentic mom and pop shops, no natural resource other than money, and completely soul-less in everyway. it has been better now that i'm 21, lol, because i do enjoy the club scene, and harrasing tourists on the strip while drinking with friends is a new favorite pasttime. but honestly, no one should live here.
Just wondering, never been too far west.
Farthest west I have been was Chicago or Dallas/Ft Worth.

Dry heat seems better than humid weather but they both suck if you don't have air conditioning.
Probably don't have to worry about snow unless you drive to the mountains.
What I know of Las Vegas is from TV shows, no direct knowledge.

Do you get chances to drive out to the desert and see the stars?
Can't see stars here, the lights drown them in an ocean of pink light.
Have to drive at least an hour or more to get away from civilization.

I have mom and pop stores where I live but they don't have a wide selection of stuff, have to go to Manhattan for a better selection. It is convenient to walk up the block and go to the store though.

i went to hawaii and didn't mind the humidity there! :) i hate how bady my skin gets chapped here. I carry chapstick in my pocket everyday. No snow really, just every 5 years or so, see the picture of vegas snow in my deviations. the snow melted by the afternoon. usually the mountains will have snow caps by late december, but it doesn't seem like it's going to be a cold winter this year, i don't think there's any snow caps.

you can't see very many stars inside city limits, lol, because we are aglow with miles and miles of neon. but you do get a good view way out in the desert. i don't go often enough, but i just recently took an astronomy class and i'm iching to get a telescope.

here in vegas, all the buildings are new, and all the businesses are franchises. some people have gotten used to that- we took a company trip to nyc, and nearly half of the group wanted to eat at olive garden!! of all the real italian places to eat in nyc, veganites wanted to eat at olive garden, of which there are 50 bazillion back home. makes me sick....

The village area in NYC has some great italian restaurants. Had a co worker from another division of the company come to NY and we went to all the local restaurants. He did not like any of them. These were places I have been to for a while and they had good food. No, he comes to NYC and what does he want? To eat at McDonalds. When I had to train his replacements in Dallas, we ate at the chains/franchises. Wendy's, Chili's, Red Lobster. Would have wanted to try authentic Texan food but we could not finish before 8 pm, most of the time the day ended around 9. Well at least I did not go to a McDonalds or Burger King.

On the other hand, going somewhere and eating at a bad restaurant is a waste of money.
Don't want to get sick either. Been to 2 restautants and I found hair in my food. Did not go back to them. One of my friends went back to one and he had intestinal problems. Also don't want to pay too much for boring food either.

When I was a kid, snow was something to be celebrated, now its just a pain. Remember when the big blizzard hit in the 90's, there was so much snow, the trains stopped running. Had a day off with pay. Climbing over huge piles of snow to cross the street is no fun. Won't complain too much, one summer there was not enough rain and there was no snow in the winter, so they were thinking about pumping water from the Hudson river. Have seen its gray greenishness up close, don't think it will be a tasty drink. Painters can paint the Hudson River, they even had a school that taught landscape painting based on Hudson river scenes but I would not want to drink from it.
