Err, I am not good at giving advice.

One advice, one you'll get from lotsa artists, practice. A lot. (something I still don't do :/).
As for the style, if you want to have a more realistic style, look at more photos of animals. Take one species first (like wolves, they are very popular and you'll find a lot of tutorials on wolf anatomy here on dA) and start small. Not size-wise, but from a detail level. First only concentrate on shapes, try finding simple shapes in their anatomy. Like here: sta.sh/02gdbdkpkug
Only work with simple shapes at first, later add more details. The shapes will help you get a better feel for the proportions and stuff and help you later draw animals free hand (no refs).

All in all you started out pretty good from what I see in your gallery. But no matter how you start the most important part is that you take your art serious. If you really want to improve and work on it seriously you will manage. c:
