Oh yeah, totally keeping the Afie name ^_^ To me, the history of the horse is just as important as their current status. Plus, just loooove her name ^_^
It is really sad that Rory sold Afie and is selling so many other amazing horses, although I was very glad to see he kept Doc (my favorite GG by far XD)
No, to me, the breeding agreement was set and is a promise among friends. It would be wrong in my mind to take it back. Besides, you have awesome horses and so I can only imagine if you want a GG, it would be an awesome GG ^_^ Whatever stallion you want the breeding to be with, I am totally okay with, yours or anyone else's. I would definitely recommend waiting a while also because I am massive on getting my horses well shown and ranked in their registries. Almost every GG I show, I get to high point and most to hall of fame status, so then your foal would get some awesome points off of that.

I find it really depends; if a took on a horse that had a lot of history, I don't think I could change the name. As you say; its just a part of them. But I have taken on horses that were barely used beyond having a reference, and I've changed their names if I've not connected to the old one. But yes; I really do love Aefie's name

And thank you - I have far too many, but I'm more about character than points, ribbons and breedings, and I adore them all, so it always makes my day to hear my herd of loons is liked ^^. I will still run the stallion past you when the time comes, though - that's the least I can do And no worries; it will be a while before I'm ready for another horse yet, so I'm in no rush at all. Her name was just Fairway, so I added the Wendepunkt for lineage tracking and because I love long stable names XD Added a bit more to her personality to add dimension too.

Yeah, I bought a Faime mare at the end of last year, and she was a yearling with no art other than a reference at the time, so I renamed her Winterfell and aged her up a bit, gave her a history and a personality...Another one I got around the same time was Frostros, and I ended up renaming her Frosted Rose. She'd had a couple of homes, but again, not very much art at all, and no rundown on personality, so I invented that. The old owner actually told me she'd had the same idea for her character. But yep; sometimes I just have to change names to better connect with them, and often I find the name goes along with the personality.
