I'm only on the 10th page so I can't say much about the book or compare it to the movie.
But I've heard it has a lot more gore. All I can say is the beginning is full of long and detailed explanations just like the first "introductional" part of the movie. To tell you the truth I'm more of a movie watcher than a book reader, but so far I like the book and I'm looking forward to more gore, hehe.
