Youkoso!
I really enjoy Shimejis, although there is a slight problem I've found, revolving mainly around the ones I've located on DA.

None of the English ones I've found are functioning properly.
I run them, and they appear in my system tray, but nothing actually appears.
I've done the same thing with Japanese Shimejis, and they work fine.
Running the .bat, .exe, and .jar have the same effect.
Running on Windows 10, but Idt that was too relevant, as my friend ran them fine.

strange. I don't think I've run across something like this before. personally, I use Windows 7 pro. The jar file should work... I don't know what to tell you, but if you do figure please tell me so I can alert other users who have the same issue.

I've had this problem, though I don't know if the reason I had it is the same. In my case, the names of the img files needed to be renamed. I can't guarantee if that'll solve the issue for you, but it's worth a check. Look at the img folder files of one of your shimeji that currently works, and see whether the non-functioning ones are named exactly in the same way. If even a character is off, it can make the whole thing stop working.

In any case, I hope you figure out what the problem is. If you do, please post the solution so other people who have the same issue can try it too!

Another thing that occurs to me is a possibility is your shimeji program could be it. Are you using shimeji or shimeji-ee? (the -ee stands for english edition and is to work with English-named shimeji.) Maybe you need the different program.

Hope any part of this reply helps you. ^^
