Thanks for the :+fav: Bro, glad you like it. BTW Thanks for the info on Wrightson. Checked out his artwork on google yesterday, love his Swamp Thing & Frankenstein works. His detail & inks are astounding:wow:. I never knew he did work for Werewolf by Night in the mid 70's. At that time, besides Frazetta, I was a big fan of Mike Ploog. You'd like him, very similar to Wrightson!:painter:

AWWW MAN!! Ploog was the concept artist for Bakshi's Wizards! I KNEW I recognized that name. That fairy Elinore shot a nerdy little pre-teen (me) straight into puberty and all the way out the other side! Thanks for the trip down mammary... errr... memory lane! :D

THEY KILLED FRITZ!!!!. Love the movie (have it on video) & Bakshi, especially the movie he did with Frank Frazetta,"Fire & Ice". The 1st time I saw Wizards was in 1978,a hard movie to get a hold of here in Australia. I've tried to order it in from the U.S., but they keep telling me it's deleted!:smoking:

The only problem I had with Wizards and several other Bakshi movies was the stupid Roto-scoping thing he did with old movie footage in place of real animation. I'm sure it was a lot cheaper but you get what you pay for lol.

Other than THEY KILLED FRITZ, the best line of the movie was Oh, one more thing. I'm glad you changed your last name, you son of a bitch!:iconundefined:

The other line (as well as that one from Avatar to his brother) I liked was when the 2 soldiers are wondering what to do with the prisoners(pow's), & try to find those wacky priests,"Why do we need religeon?", the other guy says "I don't know, I guess you need God on your side, stupi!".
I totally agree with the cheap animation, he did the same thing with his animated version of Lord of the Rings!:film:

I remember it well. I so looked forward to that movie and was so disappointed when it came out. 90 minute or so movie, and he tried to take the story at least halfway through The Two towers. It's no wonder he never did the second half. I much preferred the Rankin/Bass tv follow up anyway, so at least some good came out of it.

For myself (who was 10 at the time..), I could'nt agree more. The 1st part of the movie was great, until they left Rivendell. As you said, where was the rest of the story?. My father read it to us as kids, & when thet previewed the movie in New Zealand, we were so excited. In the end, much more content reading the book again!:reading:

Man, I'd love to visit New Zealand someday (speaking of LotR movies). I'd so love to see some of the locations where they filmed the GOOD version of LotR! :D

I'm sure I've heard of Mike before but I can't place him. Had a hectic day so I haven't had time to google him yet but I will in a bit. And yeah, isn't Wrightson's work intense? I collected about 20 prints by him back in my teens and wish to god I could find them again. Internet copies just don't do him justice. Especially the intricate detailing on his Frankenstein work. Those are just the most amazing ink drawings I've ever seen. I spent hours just studying each one and always finding something new.

He used to do Werewolf by Night from 74-78 I think. That's where I got my concept from![link]

Yeah, Werewolf by Night was one of the comics that made me want to be a comic-book artist back in the day. Man I can't believe I couldn't remember who he was.

Funny enough Bro, same here. Far out, 34 years or so ago. How art has changed over the years, especially technique!:painter:

Yes it has. One of the main reasons I quit painting a long time ago was because of the huge mess to clean up afterwards. Not to mention the disaster that ensued if someone came along and knocked over your carefully detailed and finally finished (but still wet) oil painting.

Lol I just realized we've got about 5 different conversations going on at the same time.

I've had that happen with indian ink works, when I did a Manthing pic once. Good effort into detailed art & accident spills, not good bed fellows!
