Aw no keep on with the comics never give up Did you know there's an agency for comic book artists that has an office in Sao Paulo?? It's called Glass House Graphics -- I just joined them after SDCC 2007. My friend Vitor runs the Brazil office. Here: [link]

I started my career in 1997 doing several illustrations for RPG´s magazines and a four part mini series called Godless. It was the first all written, pencilled, inked and colored by computer comic book in Brazil, but nobody gave much attention since my artwork was so amateurish back at that time. I do thanx a lot Marcelo Cassaro for being the first guy to give me a chance.
The closest thing i ever did for the US industry was 6 pages for the Misfits comic book back in 2000. The book never hitted the stands cause Chaos collapsed and i was really delayed on my schedule. I quit my career then and started to work as a Graphic Designer.
Today, i´m unemployed i have bills to pay and i have to kids at home. The fact is: I cant work with anything besides art. Im not exactly a educated men, i didnt finished college, i dont have any other skills besides draw and artistic concepts. The economy in my country is hopeless and i´m trying, again, to break in. Thats the only hope i have to give my kids some dignity. My wife suggested me to break in and shes supporting me a lot.
Right now i´m working with a US agent that promissed me to get a small job, as soon as i finish some nice pieces of samples. He suggested me a Batman try-out, and i´m doing it. It´s a 6 pages plot and i´m doing it the best i can, but the pressure is really big and many time i feel like i cant do it anything that really looks cool. My figures seems very stiffy and my storytelling boring as hell.
Well, thats it. You can see my old work here, and as soon as i finish the new ones, i´ll put them here.
For those who thinks my English sucks, and i know that DO sucks, a little explanation:
I learned English reading comics and playing RPG like AD&D.
Here in my country back in the 80´s we didnt had all this material in Portuguese, so, if you have the passion you had to learn someway... and back at that time English courses were really, really expensive... so i began translate my comic books and my AD&D books, word by word, with a English/Portuguese dictionary that my mom had when she was in school.
I still keep her dictionary with me. In a few years, i had a huge vocabulary with many, many words memorized. Unfortunally, grammatics was something that was learned intuitivelly, thats why i suck so bad. I´ve also memorized lines from movies.

Now it's time for August 2008 Visual Art Features, many new art to discover!
Don't forget that many artists need to be viewed, they deserve it! Fave Fave Fave! My main purpose in doing a monthly feature about (to my point of view) 'the best visual art' is to put in the same level as well wellknown artists and popular creations as unknown artists and under-exposed creations. Artists need to be supported. So don't be shy!
Here's the Menu per Category :
Digital Paintings & Drawings | Mixed Media | PhotoManipulations | 3-Dimensional | Vector & Vexels | Photography | Traditional Paintings & Drawings | Artisan Crafts
