Very interesting. Recolors do give Sonic fanarts a bad rap.

Cause if you create a character based in the 'Sonic' universe you do kinda have to follow the rules of anatomy for whatever animal you're working with. For example any hedgehog charcetr would have some soft of spikes and an echina would have dreadlocks. The charceters designs of Sonic are so nice and simplistic at times it's hard not to draw from them but if you don't put any kind of creativity into it it's just going to be a recolor in the end.

Sorry...I'm just a little sensative about this cause I don't want to be accousing of recoloring when I spend quite a bit of time and effort on my characters. This is the reason I don't do much Sonic art anymore...people who just slap some new colors and an outfit on an old character and call it orginal ruin it for the rest of us.

That is -exactly- how we feel. I myself even went so far as to disconnect my characters from the Sonicverse and say that they're just anthro/furry whatever. Sure, I'll roleplay them in the sonicverse. But that doesn't mean I let them be Sonic characters anymore. ... unless there's a contest? Trust me. i know how you feel. And your ranting is perfectly fine here.

ugg i hate ppl who recolour when i make charactrers i make um without baseing them on an exsisting characeter it is in sane im trying to make sprites of my characters with out recolouring its so figgen hard

What annoys me about people who make their fancharas recolours is that they make all the other fancharas look bad, no matter how original they are. You can spend a whole week working on your character and making them as unique as possible, no one will care, because they'll assume they're just like all the other recolours.

One thing that also annoys me is people who assume that just because you're the same species as another character, you're a ripoff of said character. Don't worry people, it's possible to make a unique-looking echidna! I could show plenty of examples, but I don't want to drag anyone into this.

Anyways, I have more to rant on, but I don't think anyone wants to read it. XD

Just a question- would my charrie be considered a Tails recolor (seen in my avatar)? She has 3 tails, I just fucked up the picture.... if she is did not mean to make her that way.
