Are they not the same thing?
Depends on your context. In japan Shounen ai/BL/yaoi is all the same thing, in American and general fangirl terms Yaoi is the more hard core stuff while Shounen ai would just be light hugs and kisses at the most. Same for yuri and shoujo ai I'd suppose.
