i just recently changed that as I got into TF2 this last year~ I love it so much I cosplayed as Sniper at an anime convention this past weekend (fave class evar~!) What abuot yourself? I'm assuming you adore it as I do, whose your class?

I'm playing it since quite a short time (found out about it and watched quite a lot of videos since four months ago, got the game one month ago). Have to say I play best as Sniper because for a newbie I'm already quite skilled at dealing critical headshots (Mass Effect trained me at that) and I also rather go into hiding someplace higher where I have a good view over the battlefield and then wait for someone to run into my range of fiering instead of being right in the middle of that battle.
I also like Scout pretty much - personality wise, hearing his comments in game always puts a smile on my face - but at the beginning I had quite a hard time until I learned how to handle his speed. Well, at least I could still have hoped the other team would have laughed themselves to death watching a Scout running against walls and doorframes or falling down something he just had jumped or ran up.
And Pyros can be quite adorable too - as long as they aren't on the other team and trying to burn you down.
TF2 is probably the only game that doesn't have a single character that I don't like. There might be some I play more often than others but still I like them all.
I have planned to cosplay Scout on the next gaming convention. Unfortunately that's in Octobre and mostly outdoors so I might probably freeze. But, hey, it's the Scout - that kid who is standing around in a corner freezing his butt off because he's too cool to put on a coat.
I also don't know yet how the weapon rules are looking like for that convention. Probably I will have to come as an unarmed Scout because baseball bats mostly are on the list of forbidden weapons and also with toy guns they are often quite strict (mine are made of metal and quite heavy for kids' guns so I'm not sure they will get through)

I'm the same way with my sniper, i much prefer to be up out of the way of all the carnage and get some killshots to help out the team. My one goal is to get so good a medic actually stays with me (but as my comp wont run steam its gettin' to be a bit difficult XP I have to borrow my sisters) but you are right, there isnt a single class I dont like though for a while soldier irritated me, but after a while he just cracked me up to badly to be irritated with him XD I do adore scout too as well~ in terms of fave classes it would go Sniper, Scout, Medic, Engie, Spy, Soldier, Demoman, Pyro and Heavy

My sis and I are planning on opening a table at our local one in September and I plan on getting an anger hood for mah snipes cosplay, and hopefully a huntsman as they dont care what kind of item you bring so long as its been "kid proofed" XD but it was a lot of fun to get to do last weekend so Im super excited X3Guess the Medics are too busy with their Heavies than to care about a Sniper - at least that's what's happening during my training games. I'm still sticking to training for now because I don't really want to go into a full online game before I know exactly what I'm doing.
Best that happened so far was when my Sniper sniped three Snipers in a row. They were standing in a wide open field with no cover or whatsoever, just busy aiming at the other mercs on the field. Heck, you can't camp in the middle of a road or else a van will hit you - my Sniper's van for example.
If I had to list my favourites it would be like Sniper, Scout, Pyro, Medic, Soldier, Heavy, Demo, Engie, Spy - just based on how much I prefer them in game. If I also had to list them considering other appearances - the videos and comics - I wouldn't have any idea in what order to list them. Probably all of them on first place (it's crowded at the top).
Engie and Spy are just way too hard for me to handle, at least for now. One Engie just can't put up a sentry in peace when as soon as he does so everyone immediately tries to blast him. I lived longer when I didn't build anything and just ran around shooting but that's not really an Engie's job. Spy at least survived the whole rounds because he was either camouflaged or invisible but I couldn't kill a single opponent since they weren't holding still long enough.
I'll try to remember taking photos of my Scout cosplay. Too bad I don't know any friends who would want to go to a video game convention with me (there are a few casual gamers but they aren't interested in it enough to visit a convention, and the rest are non-gamers) or else the photoshooting there would have been easier. Don't really want to trust a stranger with my phone.

oi ikr? i have yet to play online but then again I'm not sure I really want to :/ I much prefer to just play capture the point against computers on training mode and camp out with mah Snipes X3 but who knows? maybe someday we can team up and hit the online world~

I think I'm even gonna go for the "Jarate" costume prop XD

I think I'm even gonna go for the "Jarate" costume prop XDAt first I thought that offline training might get a bit boring after a while because I could only do so very few maps and only three different mission types (I would have liked to capture the intelligence too for a change but that only works in online multiplayer) but then I found out how to make the console open in the game and how to write a tiny little program that will open any of the maps and any of the missions from online mode but like on some kind of private server ( = no one else can enter it) and then (via console again) you can put the bots from the training missions inside it. The only thing that doesn't work that way are the Mann vs Machine maps (and maybe the arenas but I haven't tested that yet). The capture the flag mission also sometimes has a little bug that you are the only one who can leave the base while the bots will all remain inside but at least it's playable. And I can finally explore all the maps and all the missions.
If I was the Sniper I would become claustrophobic in my van. I would probably prefer to sleep on the roof. Besides a van roof is a better observation point.
Had a quite interesting Sniper battle yesterday. Me as the only Sniper of my team and also only one Sniper in the other (bot) team and we more or less hated each other. I wanted to get upstairs to a better lookout - was shot in the back by that damn Sniper. Therefor after I saw that he was killed I got to the respawn area and killed him with a headshot as soon as he left the base (couldn't stay there camping though because only two seconds later I was stabbed by a Spy). Unfortunately he next took over my tactic and also sniped me as soon as I got out of our base. My next attempt to kill him however failed because I accidentally shot an invisible Spy between us (was that the same backstabber from before?) The whole game long I killed no one else but only that one Sniper (and once a Spy) and according to the stats page and the low kill points of the Sniper bot he had done the same.
Since I got the Dead Ringer my Spy had a slightly higher chance of survival, I even managed to get a few backstabs but still I can't say that I improved much or that playing with him has become easier.
Longest survival so far is still with the Scout (about ten minutes which was the length of one whole game), most kills and damage dealt is of course with the Sniper.
Btw, have you seen the "End of the line" trailer? www.youtube.com/watch?v=lmVsOl… If the rumours are true this could become a new bigger update. It's not the continuation of the Mann vs Machine storyline since it will play at an earlier part of the timeline but it sill looks pretty cool. And even if the update just stays a rumor or isn't as good as expected, then at least the film to that trailer can still be awsome.
My costumes normally require not so much working on them but a lot of searching. I'm lacking the talent to sew together something and fabricate costumes on my own so in case there isn't a full costume already existing which I can buy I search for and carry together things that can be combined and crafted together. When I did the human version of Knuckles I bought red jeans a red shirt and red shoes and for all those other details (like the other colours on his shoes or his white chest mark) I used stripes of felt and a lot of double sided duct tape. The Scout costume will also mainly be made of things I that can be worn in everyday life. I still need to think about it though if I really want to paint that ear piece of my headset orange to resemble Scout's headset. I would prefer it as black as it is. Maybe I can still find some orange coloured duct tape somewhere so I can cover it instead of painting it.

I meanwhile tried out the first online game (with microphone and other people's voice comments shut off in the options so I was only reachable to other players via written chat messages or if they let their characters shout one of their character-lines) which was one of the Mann vs Machine games and I freaking LOVED it. Couldn't play as a Sniper since I thought a slow loading weapon wasn't the best choice in a flood of robots so I picked Pyro for a change. At least I wasn't the worst of the team I was in - only the second worst But also that only because I didn't get in a lot of kills. I hardly ever killed robots but I hurt a lot of them so my team mates only needed one shot or so to do the rest, I also didn't die more often than others and sometimes I was even the last one to stand the ground protecting the base while my team mates waited for the respawn.
Oh I can't say enough how much I freaking love that game mode. Have played it a few times for several hours already and will definitely play it more often.
Oh yeah, and another time I accidentally killed an invisible Spy - robot this time. Actually wanted to attack a tank and then suddenly a burning robot Spy ran away. Sorry pal. But seriously, those Spies are really bloody useless when they always happen to stand in the way.
I think End of the Line could still take quite a lot more time. I don't expect it before the end of the year, if not even next year. For now I would already be happy if they update the current comic storyline. It's been two months since the last one again so it already would be time. I really, really hope for another plot twist. Don't want Medic to really be a traitor on his old team.
