Marta is a true, and talented Illustrator - one who "brings light to" or Illumines the written works that inspire her. Although she is still so young, anyone familiar with JRR Tolkien's books will see the depth of Marta's thinking as she brings scenes and characters from such works as The Silmarillion to life. I am fascinated with this interplay of words and images, and of the various elements an artist can uncover in a character or scene, adding nuances which the author himself may not have been aware of. Therefore when Marta began reading my on-line novel and found herself inspired to create portraits of various characters and to depict scenes from the book, I was profoundly flattered. One of the character's portraits she sent to me (that of Gyric in The Circle of Ceridwen) was so utterly expressive of this young man that it actually brought tears to my eyes to see him so fully realized. It was as if I suddenly had an unknown co-creator.
Critic Lorriane Janzen Kooistra in her book about the Pre-Raphaelite poet "Christina Rossetti and Illustration", mentions the "doubled vision" of an illustrated text. When someone so enters into your words as to be inspired to respond with their own visual creativity, the result can bring new richness to the experience of entering that realm of the imagination. Marta has also exhibited this in her pieces that are not directly textually inspired. One of my favourites from his category of her work is Human & Elf. The fact that the Man and Elf face each other with perfect equanimity and balance and equality, and look without fear or distaste or envy into each other's eyes...there is something very telling about her inner life in this drawing. Wonderful work and I look forward to seeing more of it.
Hola! Muchas gracias por la devwatch.. (and since that was probably wrong already and i reached the extent of my Spanish, i'll just add that) I really like your Silmarillion works too! Keep up the beautiful work.

Get your creative juices flowing and design a movie poster for "Paper Heart" that focuses on the theme "What Does Love Mean to Me?".
The butter legion- a socialist movement/mass colab project I started, to trigger artistic change and evolution in Da artists (mainly my watchers), to make them more active and dedicated on DA. Now 170 people strong and growing... A "dangerous cult"? a "new religion"? "artistic version of fight club" or "communist movement"? You decide!
When it comes to community spirit, `Rushy is a shining example. From participating in devmeets, to providing positive encouragement to other artists, `Rushy can always be found demonstrating what it really takes to be a true deviant.
