Two things to remeber while picking which greatly effect are - eye colour and the flight summarys/
Eye colour is big in what you want to breed - so unless you want to breed solely pink/purple dragons don't pick arcane X3 If you want it neutral for all colours go for ice or light - plauge eyes works well too as far as I notice
The flight summaries are actually decently accurate about what type of people exist there ( well at least in plauge X3) Shadow also has quite a bad rep when it comes to the forums - though that happened a long time ago and I think the people went (plauge doesn't *hinthint*)
Though if you don't care about the special forums and would rather have the normal forums - just go based on the eyes :3

I'm not really good at help (as I like getting to know my stuff by myself X3) but I'll try :3~
Well I'd first go make some treasure through the fairgrounds (under play) and see if you like the games - then when you get like 10K treasure go to the Auction house and buy yourself an adult dragon (preferably not plauge - try water(in the guide section their should be a weakness table if you want to know more)) and then tackle the coliseum (team of three and an opposite/different type will make it easier - cause light/fire will murder your plauge dragons)
After that I'd say just go around the links at the side and see what each of them do (crim will be a lot more helpful later one when you have gathered a lot more - also if you get an egg sell them unless you like randomness or testing your luck X3)

i did the foraging thing and got a bunch of p useless shit but i think i can sell it so yay selling

4 eggs is good uwu I commend you on your luck with eggs~
Also I wouldn't forage just yet - none of your dragons are plant based so they won't need the food - do meat or bugs :3 If you want treasure from gathering go for scavange or dig~ Though I would say either don't buy too many dragons at once or spend more days on food then scavenging/digging so you don't run out of food~
Breeding doesn't make that much money at the moment unless you keep on the trends or do striking unique breedings (via selling - if you exalt or train and exalt you will get a decent amount of treasure) but I'd say put something towards better mates for your two progens - their range is pretty clashing ^^'

Yeah man I getcha start slow and keep the food in stock sounds about right. ((Yeah they aren't too great together but I checked out some of the offspring possibilities and they seem p cool. Although I don't understand how a black and green dragon breeding with an orange and green dragon could produce pink babies but apparently they might do just that))

The colour range is a wheel and the direction yours in going is through the blacks/whites/pinks/browns/reds/oranges while your wings are greens so those colours tend to clash - if it went the other way you would have had better matchers (like blues and greens) but I guess you got unlucky and it was just a bit out of the range to go the opposite way with colours X3 (its a bit weird how its supposed to work as I originally thought it went one way only but apparently it can go both ways*shrug*
Btw - I'm in love with your random progen <3 His colours are just so striking and unique it makes him beautiful~ I just wish they weren't so unique that people generally exalt without seeing how beautiful they are >w>

The blacks/whites and greens look pretty cool. And idk I guess I like the orange/green as well because it reminds me of tictacs :I

He's so cool isn't he??? I love him aaaa I get the feeling I'm gonna become waaaaaaaayy too attached to these dragons hahaha. Also his name looks super complicated but apparently that's the Irish spelling of Oliver. so his name is Oliver basically. Adorable really brightly coloured Oliver <33
