I would not know exactly the thickness of the sheet. Just a few microns but pewter is a material that expands a lot and can get large volumes.
Yes, I know what kind of chests you say. I'm Spanish and I always have seemed extraordinary work. Sure you're quite capable of doing a wonderful job.
