Oookay, I got a call from home today and it seems the first envelope from you is there already. I sent the second one already, by the way~ :)

Aah, ok, great :) Thank you for telling me! I hope you'll like the card, the colours are way more intense than on the scan :)
Yaay, fantastic  Oh my goodness, I can't wait to hold that beauty in my hands!

I can't wait to see it them! It will take me a while to get home and actually see it, though. *is learning genetics like crazy* Exams, obligatory school work/practicals, some clinic hours... Well, at least when I finally go home, my collection will get quite a bunch of cards at once!

Oh wow, good luck for your exams!

I love receiving cards in the mail, it brightens my day enormously :D Receiving many at one must feel like christmas ^^
I would love to browse through you collection, it must be quite big by now :) I only started this year and I have about 24 (foreign) cards so far.

Thank you! I love receiving mail as well- when dealing with fake traders, I wanted to stop trading, but then, after "one last envelope" I always wanted more... :D

And I also make one my friend's family member happy by giving him stamps, since he collects them! I heard that due to trading few stamps he got from me,  he received few quite rare pieces from our country's history. As for my collection, it recently reached a 180 cards! (Although from few people I have about 4 or 5 cards already) - I had to reorganize because my album was only for 180 cards and they are only sold at the other side of the country. (And I am kind of creepily organized sometimes- it had to be the same type of album. ) So instead I made entirely new album, this time with pages I can add according to my needs, and also sorted them into  "horizontal/vertical" groups- I looked funny because of all the head tilting! :D I may get you some webcam-shots if you're interested in seeing it. I wish you that your collection grows much bigger soon! :D

Same here...I was hooked instantly ^^ And so far, I haven't had to deal with face traders...knock on wood!

Ah, that's awesome when you're helping another person with their collection XD
180 cards, wooow! Yeees, I would really really love to see webcam shots of your collection, if that's not too inconventient for you. I love seeing other peoples collections!
Haha, and I feel you with that need for tidiness. I also have that 180-cards-album, where you can't add pages. It felt more "closed"in comparison to that one where you can add pages.
And that's a great idea with seperating horizontal/vertical cards. I may do that when I have some (many) more... At the moment they are sorted after my characters, favourite birds and humans.
Thank you, my album is still so empty, I'm very eager to fill it up with beautiful cards :)

That "knock on wood" thing- we say it here as well! I haven't heard anyone else besides Slovaks and Czechs use it before. O,o

Here it goes, with random few pages: sta.sh/21orwo5gvoec?edit=1 . The blank card with text contains dA name and country people are from, organized by rows/columns. Since I collect simply animals, I have them ordered by time I received them. I considered sorting by taxons/taxa, but never got around to do it, somehow. And it would mean either keeping more albums or constantly reorganizing, as new cards could belong anywhere. Also, in my computer, I have kind of... This thing: sta.sh/013xwrltukei :D  Talk about the need of being organized! However, because of having such detailed notes, I know shipping time estimates quite well! :D

That "closed" feeling of the album.. I liked it at first exactly because of that as well- but, as I said, they are hard to buy here (only one shop in the country I know of, and ordering by mail would cost more than album itself), but the separate pages can be bought here... I use the old 180-card one to store my "available for trade" cards properly, I used to have them all together in paper box and plastic wrap in my room, so they are protected.

Funny that you say that as well :D

Ah, that looks fantastic! I think that's a good way of organizing. Hehe, I also always write the dA name and city/country on the back of the card...I want to keep track of where the cards are from. I like tht feeling of collecting cards from all over the world...and that my art spreads so far :)
Yes, that reorganizing-thing is true...that's why I thought of sorting them by the date I received the cards, just like you...but nah, my sense for tidyness wouldn't let me do that ^^
Ah, that's awesome, that table with the trading dates, that's genious :D Haha, I liked "overthereistan" ^^ I'm still waiting for a card from the US, it's 3 weeks now :/ I really really hope it's just stuck in the post strike we have here in some parts of our country...would be such a shame if it never arrives.

I had no idea that it's so hard to get these albums in your country...I could order mine on ebay, from an online shop in my country.
I have my "cards waiting to be send" and the cards I'll keep for myself in the back of my album...still enough space.
Do you have your "toucans of the world"-cards in that old album as well?
