Well, I don't know the technical side of the process, but basically the person who began the "quilt" or "tileset" determined a grid of (n)x(n) amount of image tiles with (n)x(n) amount of pixels. One artist would download (save a copy of) the beginning tile and would complete an image on it. Once they had finished and re-uploaded it to the site, it would remain unavailable for download and viewing until the tiles surrounding it were completed. The surrounding tiles would become available for download and would only show a few pixels of detail (determined by the quilt starter) for the succeeding artists to work from, much as an exquisite corpse game en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Exquisit… is played. The process would repeat until gradually the entire image was revealed. They also had the ability to force a deadline so that tiles that had been "checked out/downloaded for completion" would be available again once a certain length of time had elapsed.

Much appreciate it. Will see if it might work for team building.
