It’s a mix of painter and ps7 I did it all in painter at first but my file got corrupted on a couple different occasions
How do the buildings show up on your computer, they should be almost silhouettes. I'm thinking my monitor shows everything to dark because all my printouts look way lighter. I do agree they are kind of crappy though just not sure where else to go with them.
you've got some great work in that gallery of yours. recently i have come to notice more and more natural artists (ie. those that still use traditional tools rather than electronic methods) coming to and submitting work on deviant art. Although there are plenty of digital artists i respect around here (spx is one that comes to mind) i have this strange admiration for those who can do it with their own hands, usualy this admiration stems from the fact that i can draw, but not as good - so i almost have this friendly envy towards you all.
keep up the great work .

Thank you, greatly! Your comment has left me speechless... your kind words really meant a lot to me. I guess I could teach you some stuff through notes, email, messengers or whatever you prefer.
As for sepia toned, grungy scratchy work -Here's some tricks I do:
For scratches I grab the paint tool set to 1 pixel choose the color white or black it really depends on the layers below on which looks better. I then lay out some nice looking scratches here and there, undoing trying again, undoing, trying again keeping and so on. I then mess the layer modes and opacity. I usually use soft light or overlay. And doodle around with the opacity until something satisfies me.
And of course for grunge, I use grunge brushes sometimes. I do the same thing like I said above just with these different brushes. A hint, dont make your usage of grunge brushes so obvious...try to blend it in with the image so your work looks more original.
Also for grunge, I sometimes take a good grungy texture mess with the brightness and contrast until I get a bunch of white with some grunge, colorize it to a color I prefer then apply it as a new layer and mess with layer modes until I find something I like.
Now for sepia tone, I guess you could just say that's a trait of mine. It's merely a matter of my pickyness. I like khaki/green/brown casual colors over just green, red, blue, and so on. Sometimes I will colorize the whole piece to my liking and sometimes only certain layers.
Now save all that as a .txt file hehe sorry for bein so long-winded.
Thanks for your kind words over on my piece Bloom Where You Are Planted. It means alot. I hope when you get a chance to browse my gallery you see something you like. Some stuff I just put up here even though I hate it, someone always finds something out of it though
