I didn't see the show, but working backwards through google, I managed to end up here. All I can say is this... art is about expression. An opinion of the artist on an emotion they wish to capture. If this image of a knife happened to be the most recent favorite image of someone who had obvious issues, it should not reflect on the mood or motive of the artist.

Just because some would label the image as macabre does not make the artist's intent to drive persons to murder. Chemical imbalances drive people to murder, rage drives people to murder, pictures are just that. Art. You can hang it on your wall. If ! squid-hater121 had a picture of a pretty pink flower on her page and killed someone, does that make the artist responsible for the image in some way responsible for the crime? No. Same applies here.

There's a line between art and reality. With a population well over 1,000,000, it is impossible not to encounter the .01% who may have serious mental issues. To blame or judge any other based on the actions of that less than one percent is both assinine and irresponsible. Sensationalist journalism is neither fair, nor balanced. FOX should be ashamed.

To you, Laura, though I have never met you, I wish a speedy end to this nonsense. To the family of the victim in this case, our hearts and minds go out to you. We all hope justice is swift for your daughter. May God, Allah, Buddah, or whatever inner strength you rely on help you through your difficult time.
