by the way there are some tricks of the trade involved especially with the really dark pages; the dark ones are using either charcoal pencils or soft graphite pencils (More in the 6B - 8B range) and the first Fireborn has both. Charcoal is way darker than graphite and for additional information i smear the shading to make it darker (fills in the gaps). The swordsman and love builds bridges utilize a special kit for drawing including specialized smearing tools, erasers, and sharpeners.
