I think that anyone can continue to add a line to a drawing--a line here, a curve there--which pretty much is more time and more detail, but when you can portray a message in the drawing, personality in the drawing, and show your own style and skill in both the drawing part and the coloring part, you have completed something. That, you do well and that, I need improvement on.
Wow... thank you... gosh, I haven't had anyone say something like that to me. x_x;; I actually have been telling myself that adding messages and personality to my drawings is something that I need to work on. XD I just always feel like my pictures are empty and missing something because I can never convey myself and my message very clearly in my drawings. I get these detailed image ideas in my head and then when I try to convey the message nothing comes out... either my lack of anatomical and perspective drawing skill kicks in or my mind to hand coordination completely sucks... OR BOTH. Haha, but really... thank you. ;_;
And personally, I think that the more you draw the easier it becomes to get yourself in the groove of conveying your messages... so just keep practicing and even if you do think that that is a problem of yours, I'm sure you will overcome it. You obviously have no problem drawing details and all that stuff, so if you keep working at it there will be no problem. ^^
Well, even though you sound like you have trouble with portraying messages and personality to your drawings, it doesn't look like it to me. I always have an idea in my head, and I can't even get something decent out of it, let alone something I'm satisfied with. I guess pretty much everyone is like that one way or another and it can be because they have their own art style and sometimes the images that they want to draw are a little different from their own art. I'd say you are much more skilled than I am when it comes to drawing and coloring, but it is difficult to compare two different art styles.
Um... hmmm... it's about to come up on my third year at drawing serious art. I would draw little doodles before that... like maybe once every six months, but most people do that anyway methinks. o.O I didn't really start practicing and working hard at drawing until yeah, about 3 years ago. Seems like just yesterday.
So you've only been seriously drawing for 3 years? JUST 3 years? You're this skilled with just 3 YEARS of experience?! You know...You're not just skilled, but your talented! I've been drawing for such a long time and I'm still not improving any bit. How....HOW?! You must have some secret! I think I started drawing in....my 3rd or 4th grade. I'm not sure about 3rd, but definately 4th. That would be 6 years....2 TIMES yours...
I guess I just need to practice a lot more. I've just been in a rut and haven't found my muse to get me motivated.
3 years....You're so skilled...I'm in awe and envy.
