And you know what, the submission made my week, too. I honestly did not think it would be so well received. Personally I don't think it is as good as it could be, but you know...it's alright, I guess. When I read the comments I get, I can forget about the imperfections for a bit, especially comments like yours, they're something to look forward for me (Thank you!)
You actually describe what I want to achieve with such a thing, a dead, cold, mechanical thing, looking alive, in a different way than we're used to it. And yeah, it's not really pure coincidence that the main shapes look somewhat like alive animals. Nature uses powerful shapes, in an artistic sense, chaotic but ordered (as mathematics can show ). This is what truly fascinates me (also, have you seen Pi yet? You know that I have quoted something fitting in my journal...although I'm not obsessed with it but the idea of patterns making up our nature is...overwhelming.)
While I'm at it: there's also this guy who proposes a "Theory of Everything", the holy grail of physics, that explains the fundamental interaction of all particles using a highly abstract object, the 248-dimensional Lie Group E8. And yet, if you look here, you can see that this pattern would be exceptionally beautiful (visually at least): [link]
Too beautiful to be true, maybe. (Sorry for making such a long entry with all kind of strange, seemingly esoteric stuff >XD )

A brand new monthly article which showcases some of deviantART's finest equine artists, as well as recognizing the lesser-known but equally talented ones. Interviews, helpful tutorials and features can all be found here too! I hope you enjoy it.
The idea of this contest is to set you up completely blind with a mythical being - from any world culture - and turn you loose to come up with a deviation based around it!
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 10 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
When it comes to community spirit, `Rushy is a shining example. From participating in devmeets, to providing positive encouragement to other artists, `Rushy can always be found demonstrating what it really takes to be a true deviant. It's without any hesitation that we are delighted to award the Deviousness Award for July 2009 to `RushyRead More
